Chasing Islands, Closing Chapters: Our European Farewell TLTR: Madeira’s home, 220k people. Small & raw Mallorca’s bigger, 1m people. More connections, great German folks. Trips feel like a goodbye tour. Europe’s done for us. USA’s next. Big dreams ahead. Share your thoughts? Comment. Long-Version: Madeira’s our home base. A small island, just 220,000 people, where we’ve carved out a life of sun, sea, and WiFi code. It’s raw, real, with Fritz our Vizsla bounding through our days. But sometimes, this tiny paradise feels too quiet. So we’ve been escaping to Mallorca, the bigger island with nearly a million souls. It’s a different world. Easier to zip across Europe. More like-minded people. More spark. We dive in, trading Madeira’s calm cliffs for Mallorca’s lively pulse. Mallorca’s got a big German crowd. It’s a mixed bag. Some are stuck chasing cheap deals, the kind of mindset I’m ready to leave behind. But others are our kind of people. Creative, driven, authentic. We’ve met incredible folks, sharing stories over drinks with the Mediterranean glowing in the background. These moments recharge us, fueling us for what’s next. Yet every trip feels like part of a goodbye tour. Europe’s grip on us is loosening. We’ve loved its history, its chaos, its raw energy. But we’re ready for a new chapter. Madeira and Mallorca will always be part of us, but this is our European sunset. The USA is calling, and we’re gearing up to answer. A bigger stage, bolder dreams, same relentless drive. What’s it like living between islands or chasing a fresh start? Got a story or thoughts on our next move? Drop a comment. Let’s connect.
